1) Remington Spanish Contract Rolling Block Rifle Cal. 43 Spanish. NSN. Bbl. 35". Blade front sight. Remington made Spanish Rolling Block that appears to be a third contract with March 1874 being last tang patent date. Bbl. has fleur d'lis & crown markings. Ladder rear sight. "US" marked buttplate. Walnut stock set with only front sling provisions. Butt & buttplate appear to be replaced. No ramrod present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Spanish socket bayonet without scabbard. CONDITION: stock set has old refinish appearance with some chipping, sanding marks, staining, handling marks & dings. Metal is an overall dull gray color possibly from old refinish with scattered pitting, oxidation, dings & handling wear. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore shows pitting along its length but evident rifling. (01-26708/MJC).
2) Spanish Bannerman Rolling Block Carbine. NSN. Bbl. 24". Blade front sight. US 1896 Krag rear sight. Bannerman assembled Rolling block with 8-06 dated 1903 Springfield bbl. & 1875 dated Spanish action. Blue finish. Hardwood stock set with only front sling swivel present. Front band is stuck forward on forend. CONDITION: stock set has an added finish with some chipping, a putty filler repair on right side of forend where an eschuteon once was, a vacant hole on opposite side of forend, scattered dings, handling marks, staining & scratches. Metal shows a mix of older reblue finishes likely done by Bannerman with what appears to be several "X" markings on upper tang, scattered dings, oxidation, handling marks, edge wear, blued over pitting & wood finish overrun. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore shows notable throughout its length but visible rifling. PROVENANCE: From the PMRB Collection. (01-26711/MJC). BOTH ANTIQUE. $500-900.
