LOT OF TWO BRITISH NO4 MKI BOLT ACTION RIFLES.
This lot consists of the following rifles both Cal. 303 Brit & Bbls. 25.
1) British No.4 MK1 Rifle. S# P3111. Blade front sight with protective ears. Parker Hale PH5C Aperture rear sight. Matching numbers on socket, bolt & mag. Other parts appear unnumbered. Rifle appears to be a Parker Hale modifed example with Parker Hale markings on receiver ring. Left side of socket has "FTR" rebuild marking & 1942 date. Metal has a mix of dark arsenal finishes. Walnut stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels, leather sling & extra Parker Hale swivel ahead of mag. MAGS: 1-10 rd. detachable. CONDITION: stock set shows some dings & handling marks. Metal retains 90% mix of arsenal blue & black finishes with some edge wear, light oxidation, fading & handling marks. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bright near excellent bore. 2) British No.4 Mk 1 T Bolt Action Sniper Rifle. S# G30503. No front sight blade present & sight ears are bent. Ladder rear aperture rear sight gradauated to 1300yds with only one aperture present. Matching numbers on bolt handle & socket. Other visible parts are unnumbered or mismatched. Left side of reciever marked "No. 4 MKI" & "T". Left side of socket has 1944 date, "M47C" BSA & "TR" markings. Left side of receiver has No. 4 scope bases present. Hardwood stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels. Swivel ahead of mag well is missing & front swivel is on nosecap. Top of wrist appears to be numbered "132". Bottom of butt marked "S51". MAGS: 1-10 rd. detachable. CONDITION: butt has a sanded appearance with altered grip shape at bottom of wrist, added glossy finish, some dings & scattered handling marks. Forend & handguard show an older added oil finish, some notable handguard cracks, scattered dings, finish loss, abrasions & handling marks. Metal is mostly a gray color with scattered traces of varied arsenal finishes, oxidation, handling marks & edge wear. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Good bore with scattered frosting & light pitting but strong rifling. (25-5354/MJC). BOTH CURIO. $900-1,400 for lot.
