LOT OF TWO ANTIQUE SINGLE SHOT RIFLES.
1) Werndl 1867 Single Shot Carbine. Cal. 11mm Werndl. NSN. Bbl. 23 1/3". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight with Schritt graduations. Lock has 1868 date. Top of action has "FERD FRUUWIRTH" marking. Buttplate tang has "6.T.D./2191." unit marking. Hardwood stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels. No ramrod present. CONDITION: stock has older added finish with a 2" crack on left side of action, a couple smaller cracks ahead of lock, scattered dings, chips, handling marks, gouges & scratches. Metal is mostly a gray patina with overall oxidation, scattered pitting more heavy on upper tang, handling marks & edge wear. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bore is mostly bright with a couple small spots of light pitting but strong rifling. (01-28392/MJC).
2) Beaumont 1871/88 Bolt Action Rifle. Cal. 11mm Beaumont. S# 768. Bbl. 32". Blade front sight. Tangent rear sight graduated to 1800m. Matching numbers on bolt & receiver. Other visible parts appear unnumbered. Beaumont updated to Vitali mag. Receiver has faint Maastricht marking. Bbl. has 1876 date. Balance of metal parts are bright with mag being blued. Hardwood stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels. Right side of butt has strong 1876 dated acceptance cartouche. Replacement ramrod present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: second pattern 1871 Beaumont bayonet that appears cleaned & shows light oxidation. CONDITION: stock has arsenal rework type finish with a few shallow gouges, scattered dings, scratches & handling marks. Metal has been notably cleaned to bright with some flaking on mag body & scattered oxidation. Action is full of grease but appears functional when hand cycled. Bright very good plus bore showing perhaps some minor frosting. PROVENANCE: From the PMRB Collection. (01-28396/MJC). BOTH ANTIQUE. $800-1,200 for lot.
