LOT OF TWO ANTIQUE MILITARY RIFLES.
1) Keller Swiss Vetterli 1869 Bolt Action Rifle. Cal. 10.4 Swiss. S# 8325. Bbl. 33". Blade front sight. Tangent rear sight graduated to 1000m. Butt stock is numbered "375" possibly a factory error but other visible parts have matching numbers. Early & scarce Keller made 1869 Vetterli rifle with only 9700 made by that maker. Arsenal blue finish. Hardwood stock set with bottom mounted sling swivels & checked forend. Ramrod present. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Swiss 1867 socket bayonet that is an overall gray patina with oxidation. CONDITION: stock set has arsenal type finish with some chipping, scattered dings, hand[ling marks & wear. Metal is mostly faded to gray more notable on action with scattered oxidation, handling marks, traces of bluing more heavy on bbl. & loading gate. Action may need attention as elevator will get stuck. Bore shows some oxidation & light pitting but strong rifling. (01-28395/MJC).
2) Portuguese Snider Artillery Carbine. Cal. 577 Snider. S# A107. Bbl. 21 1/2". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 600yds. Lock has 1877 date & "FA" Portuguese marking. Top of breechblock has Snider's patent marking. Hardwood stock with bottom mounted sling swivels. Brass hardware. Left side of stock has "F.A./1887" marking. Ramrod present. CONDITION: stock shows scattered finish loss with a notable patch on right side of butt, a few notable gouges, scattered dings, handling marks & scratches. Brass parts are a dull yellow color with scattered dings & oxidation. Balance of metal is a dull gray patina with old oxidation throughout. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Very good bore with strong rifling & some light oxidation.
