LOT OF 5 SOCKET BAYONETS.
This lot consists of the following bayonets: 1) Unmarked Socket Bayonet. No locking ring. Overall length 17" with 13 1/2" blade. CONDITION: metal is a gray patina with scattered oxidation & age related wear. 2) Woolley Deakin & Co. Indian Pattern 1809 Bayonet. Overall length 20' with 16" blade. Blade has faint Woolley Deakin & Co marking. CONDITION: bayonet shows an older cleaning with scattered oxidation, dings & scratches. 3) US Marked Socket Bayonet. Bayonet measures 21" overall with 18 1/2" US marked blade. Socket has locking ring. No scabbard present. CONDITON: metal has a renickel finish with scattered oxidation, dings & some finished over pitting. 4) US Marked Socket Bayonet. Overall length 21" with 18 1/2" blade. Scabbard & US marked leather frog present. CONDITION: blade remains partially bright with oxidation staining along its edge. Other metal parts of bayonet & scabbard are a dull gray oxidized patina. Scabbard shows scattered crazing & flaking. 5) British Socket Bayonet. Lock ring & British proofs on blade. Overall length 21" with 18 1/2" length blade. Leather scabbard present. CONDITION: blade remains paritally bright with some dings & oxidation. Rear of bayonet is a gray oxidized patina. Scabbard shows oxidation & dings on brass with crazing & flaking on leather.
