REVOLVERS. 1) Cal. 38 Colt. S# 31586. Bbl. 3". New Army / Navy double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1895. Left side of the bbl. is marked "COLT D.A. 38", with Colt's 3-line mfg. and patent information marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with the encircled Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with the trigger and top strap of the hammer exhibiting a nitre blue finish. Sides of the hammer are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece "COLT" Navy pattern checkered brown hard rubber grips. Standard fixed half-moon blade front sight and frame U-notched rear sight. Matching assembly # "875" is present on the frame, cyl. crane, and cyl. latch, with "875" also inscribed on the interior of the grips. CONDITION: metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina, with scattered spots and patches of light to moderate surface oxidation and pitting overall. Relatively bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots and small patches of moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, with some cyl. play. Grips show light to mild smoothing and scattered superficial handling marks, with a large chip present on either panel at the bottom of the rear grip strap. (01-28905/MLW). ANTIQUE. 2) Cal. 38 Spl. S# 260264. Bbl. 4 1/2". New Army / Navy double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1906 and later converted to .38 Special. Original markings have been obliterated, save for traces of the encircled Rampant Colt logo on the left side of the frame and the S# on the butt. Metal components exhibit a reapplied nickel plated finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece "COLT" Navy pattern checkered brown hard rubber grips. Standard fixed half-moon blade front sight and frame U-notched rear sight. Matching assembly # "198" is present on the frame, and is inscribed on the interior of the grips. Cyl. crane assembly # is mismatched via "1009". CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their reapplied nickel plated finish, showing some flaking and small spots of oxidation overall. Relatively bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of mild to moderate pitting, while retaining good to strong rifling throughout. Action does not function in DA, with the trigger getting stuck in the rearward position and with the cyl. pushing past the latch in DA mode. Firing pin on hammer has broken and does not protrude through the frame. Left side of the frame exhibits 3 added holes, 1 also going through the cyl. latch. Bbl. is blown out at the chamber area. Cyl. ejector rod head is absent, with threaded section having been removed. Ejector ratchet is improperly seated, blocking the cyl. from being loaded. Grips show mild smoothing, as well as scattered marks from handling and storage, with 1 chip on the base on the left panel, and 2 chips on the base of the right. (25-5399/MLW). CURIO. 3) Cal. 38 Colt. S# 194204. Bbl. 6". New Army / Navy double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1903. Left side of the bbl. is marked "COLT. D.A. 38", with Colt's 2-line mfg. and patent information marked across the top. Left side of the frame is marked with a partially visible encircled Rampant Colt logo. Frame is mounted with 2-piece "COLT" checkered brown hard rubber grips. Standard fixed half-moon blade front sight and frame U-notched rear sight. Matching assembly # "860" is present on the frame, cyl. crane, and cyl. latch. CONDITION: metal components have been cleaned, exhibiting a dull gray patina, with areas of light pitting present overall. Relatively bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of mild to moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, with significant cyl. play. Grips show some mild smoothing and scattered superficial handling marks, with the right panel exhibiting a small chip at the rear edge of the back strap. (25-5403/MLW). CURIO. $700-1,200.
