Cal. 45. NSN. 32" octagon bbl measuring 1" across flats. Top flat is engraved "Rundell". J. Rundell was a accomplished 20th century Michigan builder of fine flintlock, percussion rifles & pistols. Globe style front with folding leaf rear sight. Rundell marked left hand lock, hammer & top tang are lightly scroll engraved. Double set triggers. Wedge fastened half-length walnut stock features a pewter forend tip & shadow line cheekpiece on the right side. Left side of butt has a lightly engraved circular lid brass patch box. Other brass fitting includes a crescent butt plate, toe plate, finger curl trigger guard, side plate escutcheon & 2 wedge escutcheons. The hardwood ramrod is held by 2 plain iron pipes. Weight 8 lbs. 6.6 oz. CONDITI0N: bbl. & iron parts have lightly faded browned finish. Original stock finish shows some scratches & marks with a small crack extending from the front of the lock. Trigger must be set for the lock to hold in the cocked position. Trigger pull is extremely light. Bright bore has near excellent rifling.
