LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 13939. Bbl. 3 15/16". M11 (Dutch designation) Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by DWM under contract for the Dutch East Indies Army in 1928. The left side of the bbl. extension is marked with a Crown/N commercial nitro proof (repeated on left side of breechblock), with a Dutch "KL"/"KLO" proof on the right. Toggle is marked with the intertwined DWM monogram logo. Left side of the frame is marked with the Dutch "RUST" safety marking above an upward pointing feathered arrow. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Takedown lever, trigger, mag. release button, safety lever, and ejector exhibit what appears to be a reheated strawed finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, and features a grip safety. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and fixed V-notch rear sight. Left side of the frame is fitted with a Dutch brass identification plate, which has been scrubbed at one time. Nearly all serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, grip safety, bbl., bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, and toggles. Grips match via the full S# on the interior of the panels. Firing pin is mismatched via "69". MAGS: x1 8-rd. with unmarked wood plug. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts to the majority of their apparent original blue finish, exhibiting patches and areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray and brown patinas, scattered spots of light pitting, as well as some superficial handling marks overall. Strawed parts are very good, showing some light wear and scattered spots of age related discoloration. Bore is bright, exhibiting consistent light pitting and a ring of dark moderate pitting around the interior edges of the muzzle, while retaining good rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show overall smoothing, with some scattered marks and small impressions, but otherwise remain sound. (26-1944/MLW). CURIO. $2,500-3,500.
