Outstanding IVO Fabbri Best Quality Sporting Grade Over/Under Shotgun with Engraving Signed by Galeazzi, #E689, 12 ga., 28" blued barrels are of the best steel available in Europe, include a tapered ventilated rib that is marked "III" in gold at the rear and top of the opening lever, small "R.A. Day" in gold lettering on the left side, with 3" chambers, and is choked IC/CYL. The true sidelock action features a single non-selective inertia trigger, dual underlug lockup, non-automatic safety, and selective ejectors. The coin finished receiver is beautifully engraved with a small flock of mallards approaching the viewer through the foliage on the left sidelock, a retriever bringing a downed duck back to the blind on the right side, all surrounded with rose and scroll engraving, other engraved views of trees and similar foliage to examine. The bottom of the receiver features a view of four mallards, one ascending, surrounded by tasteful rose and scroll coverage. Top caption features "IVD Fabbri" in text. Blue trigger guard features a gold "D" with an arrow through it for its previous owner. The long lower tang has scrolls with "E689" in gold. Signed by engraver "Galeazzi" on the left side. Full forend and straight grip buttstock are of presentation grade European walnut, oil finished, with complete checkering at 28 LPI, and a "BMR" buttpad. Stock dimensions are 14-1/2" x 1-5/8" x 1-7/8". Manufactured in 1988. Contained in a brown & black Negrini hard case with paper accessories. Condition is excellent, retaining approx. 98% factory blue. Engraving is magnificently done and in superb condition. Wood displays typical signs of field use, with intermittent light marks on the forend and sides of the buttstock, checkering detail is crisp. Action shows little wear, closes very tight and functions correctly; bores are mirror bright. Overall reflecting light use, regular cleaning and maintenance. A truly fantastic sporting arm.
