RIFLE. Cal. 44 RF Henry. S# 1687. Bbl. 30". This example has been upgraded after it left the factory with "Parker, Snow, Brooks & Co" engraved on the bbl forward of the flip up adjustable rear sight. The receiver has a well executed foliate scroll with punch background engraving surrounding the name "Dexter W Parker" and covering approx 80% of the remaining metal. The Triplet & Scott marking is still present on the top tang. It is fitted with a walnut stock set that terminates with a smooth steel buttplate and pewter forearm cap. CONDITION: metal finish has an even brown patina. Engraving and markings are crisp. Stock has been repaired at the weak point around that mag tube and refinished and has subsequent 6" long crack which does flex. There is a brass plate where a sling swivel was once mounted in the toeline of the stock. Good bore with deep sharp rifling. A neat custom example with an attractive engraving. (01-28176/ZAL). ANTIQUE. $1,000-1,500.
