FIELD GUN WITH CASE. Cal. .410 3". S# 543J2 (1962). The 28" demi-block barrels with raised ventilated rib have all correct markings on top either side of rib. Left side is marked for modified and full chokes. Blued small size Browning superposed action fitted with gold plated single selective trigger is engraved in grade 1 style with attractive scrolls and swirls on each side. Lightly fiddle figured European walnut long tang round knob buttstock measures 14-1/4" over Browning buttplate. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Rounded field forend matches well but does not have fiddle figure. MEASUREMENTS: STOCK: DAH: 2-5/16". DAC: 1-1/2"+. CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-1/4". WEIGHT: 6 lb. 12 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in vintage tan Hartmann case lined in fawn faux fur. Appears to be for a 20 Ga. gun. Case contains instruction envelope and 1 key. CONDITION: truly exceptional, very close to "as new", with only a few handling and assembly marks in all factory finishes. Bores are bright and shiny. Mechanically crisp. Case is very good; lightly soiled interior. Browning name on top has newer plastic plate cover. It would be hard to find a better early .410 field gun. (26-1424/MGM). CURIO. $5,000-8,000.
