PISTOL OF BRIGADIER GENERAL ALBERT E. HUNTER. Cal. 32 ACP. S# 567993. Mfg. 1942 with fixed front sight and adjustable rear. Two piece checkered grips. Following graduation from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1942 Albert E. Hunter would retire from the United States Army as the rank of Brigadier General. His service in the Vietnam War would earn him numerous awards such as the Air Medal (Unknown), Bronze Star (Unknown), Legion of Merit (V Corps Support Command), Army Distinguished Service medal (Qui Nhon Support Command) and Army Distinguished Service Medal, (Department of the Army). Right side of frame stamped "U.S. PROPERTY". MAGS: One original 8 rd. magazine. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Signed letter from Nancy S. Hunter, the widow of Brig. Gen. Albert E. Hunter, listing this gun by serial number as having belonged to her late husband. CONDITION: Very good overall as refinished. Parkerized metal parts retain 98% finish with a few light handling marks and minor freckling to front strap and grip safety. Grips are very good with some flattening of diamonds; notably at right side. Good bore with crisp rifling and has slightly frosted appearance. (25-2410/BH). CURIO. $3,000-5,000.
