High Bear was the brother of the great chief Crow King. Crow King lead 80 men from his band, including his three brothers into the Battle of Little Bighorn. Two brothers died during the battle. High Bear saw the soldier that killed his brother White Bull and shot at him but missed. He was able to chase the soldier down and kill him by clubbing him with this rifle, breaking the stock.
