ORIGINAL FINISH, HOLSTER, & MATCHING MAGAZINE. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 10927. Scarce Krieghoff WWII military Luger, 1940 chamber date, only 1100 having been assembled that year, all matching including magazine. This standard configuration pistol has a 4 inch barrel with drift adjustable front sight and "V" notched rear sight. Chamber marked "1940". Front toggle link with the HK/KRIEGHOFF/SUHL logo. Full serial number "10927" on forward frame, under barrel, and left side of barrel extension. All the usual small parts matched to the last two digits of the serial number, most with the associated Eagle/2 acceptance. Original unmarked black Bakelite grips. MAGS: x1 extruded blued 8-rd. mag. body, left side marked with a "122" and double Eagle/37, the aluminum plug marked with the Eagle/2 acceptance and the full "10927" serial number. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: correct black leather holster marked with an Eagle/2 Krieghoff proof on the interior of the body. CONDITION: very good to excellent salt blue with cold blue having been used to touch up the barrel, brown toning under bright light. The remainder of the pistol has 95% of its bright original salt blue, thumbprint temper on rear frame, with wear in the expected locations. Comparable, original condition strawed parts, grip screws with arguable touch-up. Grips with slightly blunted diamonds but no splits or chips. Magazine with light insertional wear. No suggestion that the plug has been removed and/or altered. Bright bore with sharp rifling, Correct manual mechanics. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting light overall wear, with some handling marks and spots of light to mild crazing. A very attractive and all matching 1940 dated Krieghoff Luger with a matching magazine, sure to please the serious collector! PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of John Eckert. (26-2224/LMA).
