NAVY OVERSTAMP THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 13834. Bbl. 10 1/2" with Cutts compensator that bears only Cutts markings & patent dates. Blade front sight. Lyman ladder aperture rear sight. Matching numbers on upper & lower assemblies. This is a fantastic condition U.S. Navy marked "over stamp" Thompson & will make for a great addition to the discerning collector's battery. This gun has original 1928 internal parts. High quality Colt blued finish. Walnut stock set with vertical foregrip. This is one of the finest Colt Over stamp guns this cataloger has seen & it would be very difficult to upgrade from. Both right side of butt & pistol grip are stamped "ACPD III" for Atlantic City Police (With "A" of butt stamping being inverted. Volume 1 of the Colt Thompson Serial book by Herigstad lists this gun as being part of the Atlantic City PD & part of the Russell Jones collection. Buttstock has a small Navy anchor below where it meets metal. MAGS: 1-50 rd. L drum with Bridgeport, CT address, 1-30 rd. stick made by SWCO & 1-20 rd. stick made by Seymour. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: aftermarket black hardcase with cleaning rod. CONDITION: furniture shows some handling & storage marks. Metal retains 95-97% original lustrous bluing with some operational & edge wear. Action functions properly when hand cycled. Bright near excellent bore.
