German Walther ac42 P.38 Semi-Automatic Pistol, #1265e, 9mm cal., 4.9" barrel, blued finish, reproduction grips with German eagle, blade front sight, fixed rear sight with U-notched groove, hammer drop safety, and lanyard loop on the lower left side of the frame. Includes one blued steel magazine marked "P.38" on the left side and two "(eagle)359" proofs on the rear spine. Also included is an unmarked black leather holster with pebble grain body, smooth flap and reinforcement cupped leather piece at the butt of the grip; additional pair of checkered black plastic post-war grips. Pistol is marked "P.38" and "ac42" on left side of the slide. Right side with two "(eagle)359" Waffenamts and Nazi eagle proof. There is an additional "(eagle)359" Waffenamt on left side of the frame. Barrel with "(circle-dot)" post-war West German proof. Matching numbers on frame, slide, and locking block. Additionally, the replacement barrel has been numbered to match. Import marked on the bottom of the barrel. Bottom edge of the slide is discreetly marked "GERMANY". Pistol is in near excellent condition as at least partially refinished, with some of the factory lettering on the slide now a little soft, as well as some minor blemishes visible under the new finish. Overall, approx. 97% finish remains; barrel shows mild plum colored toning. Grips show minimal handling marks. Action, hammer drop, and slide stop function well. Bore is bright throughout with near excellent rifling. Magazine has a mottled blue appearance with golden hues, showing evidence of light cleaning and added finish. Holster is good and shows moderate age and wear; stitching is secure. Extra grips are very good, showing normal light handling wear. Est.: $600-$800. (C&R/PPT)
