SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 1936g. Bbl. 4 7/8". P.38 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther in 1943. Left side of the slide is marked with partially discernible markings "P.38" and "ac/ 43", followed by the S#, with a Walther Eagle/359 and firing eagle proof marked on the right. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece grooved grips, the left being comprised of brown resin, the right of Polyamid-6. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and U-notch rear sight. Matching numbers are present on the frame, slide, and bbl. Breechblock is mismatched. MAGS: x2 "jvd" blued 8-rd. mags., x1 numbered "4063" and the other "9077" on the floorplates. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather holster with brown leather rear panel marked "A.FISCHER/ BERLIN C.2/ 1944" above an eagle proof, followed by "P38". CONDITION: metal components retain trace to fair amounts of their original arsenal blue finish, with the balance having faded to gray patina, exhibiting some scattered spots of oxidation, as well as spots and patches of age related discoloration. Bore exhibits consistent moderate pitting, while retaining heavily worn rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, to include the safety / decocking lever. Grips show some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting general overall wear, with areas of light to mild age related cracking and crazing. (26-1518/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
