SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 4892e. Bbl. 3 15/16". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser in 1942. The bbl. extension is marked with the 2-digit year of mfg. "42" over the top of the chamber, with x2 Mauser Eagle/135 proofs and an eagle firing proof marked on the right (firing proof repeated on right side of bbl. and left side of breechblock). Toggle is marked with Mauser's "byf" mfg. code. Metal components exhibit a chrome plated finish overall (a typical telltale sign of a G.I. bring back). Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl., bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, and rear toggle pin. Grips are matching via "92" in big block characters on the interior of the panels. MAGS: x2 blued steel 8-rd. mags. with black synthetic plugs. x1 marked with x2 Eagle/37 proofs, the other marked with x2 Eagle/37 proofs, Haenel's "fxo" mfg. code, and "P.08". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather holster mfg. by Gebruder Klinge, marked "gxy 1941" and "P08" on the rear panel. Holster contains a Mauser Eagle/135 proofed loading tool. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their post-war applied chrome plated finish, exhibiting some superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered spots of flaking and bubbling. Bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of light to mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some light smoothing, but otherwise remain sound. Holster remains malleable, exhibiting scattered handling marks and areas of age related cracking and crazing, but otherwise remains sound. Loading tool closure flap has torn free from its stitching on one side. (26-1517/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
