POLICE LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 1233y. Bbl. 3 15/16". P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Mauser in 1941 and subsequently issued to the German police. The bbl. extension is marked "1941" over the top of the chamber, with an Eagle/N commercial nitro proof marked on the left (repeated on left side of breechblock), and with an Eagle/L German police proof marked on the right. Toggle is marked with the Mauser banner logo. Metal components exhibit a salt blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and fixed V-notch rear sight. Bbl. extension is fitted with a police Schiwy safety. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, safety lever & bar, hold-open latch, bbl. extension, trigger bar, breechblock, extractor, firing pin, toggles, as well as the rear toggle pin. Grips are matching via "33" in large block characters on the interior of the panels. Bbl. is unnumbered. MAGS: x1 blued steel 8-rd. with aluminum plug. Plug S# has been scrubbed at one time. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory salt blue finish, exhibiting light to mild edge wear that is fading to gray patina, areas of thinning fading to gray patina, as well as some mild to moderate pitting on the frame beneath the grip panels. Grip straps show light to mild thinning, with scattered spots of light pitting and darkened light to mild surface oxidation. Bore is relatively bright, exhibiting a consistent scattering of mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show smoothing, as well as scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, with the left panel exhibiting a chip in the usual area, to the right of the safety lever. (26-1946/MLW).
