SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL WITH HOLSTER. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 32974C. Bbl. 4 7/16". Model 1922 semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Fabrique Nationale while under German occupation between January to August of 1944. Left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE D'ARMES DE GUERRE HERSTAL BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE", along with an "(H)" (Heer), eagle firing proof, and 2 Eagle/WaA140 proofs. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Standard fixed half-moon blade front sight on slide extension and dovetailed V-notch rear sight. Slide exhibits the full S# "32974C", with the slide extension, bbl., and frame matching via "2974C". MAGS: x2 blued steel 9-rd. mags. Spare mags. floorplate has been clipped at the toe. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: late war German holster comprised of Prestoff with a brown leather closure flap and strap. Interior of closure flap exhibits illegible factory markings above a handwritten name and # in black ink. Rear of closure flap is stamped with the AKAH logo along the left side. CONDITION: metal components retain good amounts of their original arsenal blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning fading to gray patina, with scattered spots and patches of dark surface oxidation present overall. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show some smoothing and some superficial handling marks, but otherwise remain sound. Holster shows general overall wear, with the leather remaining malleable and exhibiting some small spots of crazing. (25-6159/MLW). CURIO. $500-800.
