Factory Engraved Remington-Rider Magazine pistol, #NVSN, .32 RF Extra Short cal., 3" barrel, originally with blued finish, smooth two-piece rosewood grips, with fixed half-moon blade front sight. Frame with extensive floral scroll engraving and punch-dot background. There are scalloped geometric designs along the barrel flats. Top of the barrel is marked in two-lines "E. REMINGTON & SONS. ILION, N.Y./RIDERS PAT. AUG. 15TH, 1871". Mfgd circa 1871-1888, with approx. 15,000 produced. This revolver is in very good overall condition, displaying an even brown patina, with well-defined engraving and factory lettering. There are traces of original blued finish in some of the protected areas. Grips are in near fine condition with general light marks from age and handling, showing most of the oil finish remaining. Action is crisp. Bore is fair+, with visible rifling and scattered erosion. Est.: $900-$1,200. (Antique) (Michael Strietbeck Collection)
