MACHINE GUN. Cal. 9mm. S# U4541. Bbl. 8". The Smith 76, as its commonly referred to, as a factory S&W open bolt SMG. It has a left side folding loop style stock. The tubular receiver is similar in aesthetics to the more commonly seen British Sten, although w/ the S&W the mag. protrudes from the bottom in a more traditional design. Dark black factory parkerized finish on exposed metal surfaces. The black plastic pistol grip is integral w/ the folding stock. The receiver incorporates two sling attachment points at approx. the 11 o'clock position. Protected post fixed front sight, fixed protected peep rear sight. Ambidextrous safety/selector. The bbl. nut is very similar in design to that of the combat proven Uzi SMG & utilizes an integral 6" slotted shroud to protect user from contacting a hot bbl. Left side marking on tubular receiver "SMITH & WESSON". Left side rearward of mag. well "Made in USA / Marcas Registradas / Smith & Wesson / Springfield, MASS." Safety/selector markings "Safe Semi Full". Right side marking tubular receiver above pistol grip "MOD76 U4541". Safety selector markings repeated on right. Right side rear of mag. well is SW Trademark. Right side mag. well stamped "NYS DCS / 45". Currently sporting black nylon sling. MAGS: 1-36 rd. CONDITION: parkerizing on exposed metal surfaces is thin & uniform w/ scattered patina. Some wear shown where safety selector rides over receiver & in some areas of mechanical intervention, as well as some thinning typically associated w/ rack storage. Spot on left side where an old adhesive strip remains. Folding stock locks correctly in open & closed positions & rubber coating is complete & free of major defect. Grip checkering filled w/ white. Bright bore w/ well pronounced rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand. NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT MG REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE. (03-2062/JZ). CURIO. CLASS III. $10,000-15,000.
