FULLY AUTOMATIC 40MM GRENADE LAUNCHER ON MOUNT. S# MK19001. Bbl 22" with flash suppressor. A real once in a lifetime opportunity to own a firearm that usually doesn't exist outside of fables & tall tales. While the MK 19 Grenade Launcher is often mentioned in representing the latest & greatest of firepower of its type, it is important to understand its history. The MK19 Mod 0 was first fielded in 1968 in Vietnam. It was manufactured to utilize newly designed 40x53mm round. It fired from an open bolt, utilizing advanced primer ignition. The MK19 Mod 1 made its debut in 1971 and by 1974, reliability issues lead to the development of a Mod 2. It wasn't fielded by the U.S. military, however a run of 600 aluminum receiver variants was manufactured for a Israeli contract. When the MK19 Mod 3 surfaced years later, it boasted a 25% larger receiver than the Israeli Mod 2, creating compatibility issues when confused end users tried to integrate parts from the earlier aluminum offering. This example is an extremely rare, as new MK19, Mod 3 on the appropriate MK 64 Mod 4 Machine Gun Mount. Receiver is marked on left "GUN 40MM/MK19 MOD3/1001-3269400/MK19001/US".
