MACHINE GUN.Cal. 8mm Lebel. S# 206196. Bbl. 18". Blade front sight. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m rear sight has two vacant locking screw holes causing the aperture to be loose. Matching numbers on receiver & endcap. Famous or perhaps infamous WW1 French light machine gun used by their army & the AEF, as one the first man portable MGs. Left of receiver marked "C.S.R.G" for Chauchat, Suterre Ribeyrolle and Gladiator. Front of tube is "N" marked for interwar Balle N upgrade. End cap has boxed "SA" Finnish army marking. Arsenal rework type blue finish. NFA registry lists mfr. French Chauchat. Hardwood stock marked with a star over "M" on left side & pistol grip. Folding bipod present that is a bit loose. MAGS: 1-20 rd. CONDITION: furniture shows a small crack on left side behind action, a notable chip at toe, scattered finish loss, dings, dents & handling marks. Metal retains 60-70% arsenal rework type blue with scattered blued over pitting, handling marks, light oxidation, edge wear & overall fading to brown. Bolt & chamber face appear to have remnants of some weld material denoting this is a reactivated gun. Selector function is stiff but action does function properly when hand cycled.
