SABER. Curved 33 3/4" double fullered blade with tapering spine that transitions to a false end for the final 11" and terminating with a clipped style point. The blade is decorated with gold gilt floral vignettes and a trophy of arms on each side. The regulation 3-bar hilt has swallow-tailed margins that include the langets & upward curving quillon with bulbous finial. The lipped pommel is peened to the hilt securing the Shagreen grip with 3-band brass wire wrap; 2 straight, 1 twisted. AN IX steel scabbard with brass hangers and throat. CONDITION: Overall very good. The blade has a mostly even grey patina with some light cleaned pitting. Approx 80% of the gilt remains in the blade engraving. No washer. Hilt has some minor dings. Grip is very good. Scabbard is very good with a few small dents. PROVENANCE: Estate Collection of Nicholas Apergis (02-24770/ZAL) $600-900
