PERSONAL PAPERS AND RELATED BOOKS. This fascinating lot includes a frame liberated from the bunker of Adolf Hitler and given by General Eisenhower to John Wesley Snyder. The frame now contains photos of Germany and of Snyder. There is a key at the bottom of the frame that explains each photo. The lot further includes a bound large format book of Adolf Hitler's personal papers, including a marriage certificate, Will, Political rants, and more. The book has Snyder's name on the lower right and was a gift from President Truman to Snyder while serving in the Truman Administration as Secretary of the Treasury. Finally, the lot includes two books titled "TRUMAN" by David McCullough and "THE MONUMENTS MEN" by Robert Edsel. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: a large binder with information about the frame and presentation book, as well as Hitler's bunker. The binder also holds information about the life and career of John Snyder, along with a detailed account of an interview with John Snyder on the Truman Library website describing how Eisenhower gave him the frame. CONDITION: frame is heavily worn with losses, but remains fairly solid with good photos. The presentation book shows light overall wear. The other 2 books are lightly used. (02-26218/BF). NON-GUN. $2,000-4,000.
