MODEL REVOLVER. Cal. 38 WCF. S# 276393. Bbl. 4 3/4". Single Action Army Bisley Model revolver mfg. by Colt in 1906. Left side of the bbl. is marked with a partially legible (BISLEY MODEL) 38 W.F.C.", with Colt's 2-line address marked across the top towards the breech. Left side of the frame is marked with Colt's 2-line patent information, followed by the encircled Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a reapplied blue finish overall, save for on the hammer, which is case colored. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Colt checkered brown hard rubber grips. Interior of left grip panel exhibits some illegible handwritten text. Standard SAA pattern fixed blade front sight and V-notched frame rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, trigger guard, and rear grip strap. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light to mild edge wear fading to gray patina, with scattered spots/patches of light to mild pitting present beneath the bluing. Hammer retains traces of case coloring in protected areas. Bore is relatively bright, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of mild to moderate pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show moderate smoothing and wear, as well as scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. (25-4292/MLW). CURIO. $800-1,200.
