CARBINE. Cal. 44. S# 97927. Standard configuration of 1872 manufactured saddle ring carbine, 20" blued round barrel, 2 line "Kings Improvement" address, two position adjustable sight, finely scroll engraved with well rendered vignette of an antlered deer & bear. Earlier style Henry trap door in buttplate, still retains the 3-piece iron & brass cleaning rod. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original 3-piece cleaning rod. CONDITION: excellent overall as refinished gold & blue finish, straight grain walnut stock is sound, well fit, added varnish. Matching serial numbers on frame, stock, & buttplate. Mechanics are crisp, good rifled bore with pitting. (01-26418/JS). ANTIQUE. $8,000-12,000.
