SUPERPOSED SKEET GUN WITH CASE. Cal. 20 Ga. 2-3/4". S#. 49668V8 (1968). The 28" barrels with ventilated rib have all correct St. Louis and Montreal markings on top barrel with left sides of breeches stamped with skeet chokes. Coin finished small size action with gold plated single selective trigger is engraved in usual Diana style with relief group of pheasant on left and ducks in swamp on right surrounded by semi-relief shaded large scroll and strap work. A pair of quail fly across bottom of action and two bunnies are on trigger guard bow. Engraver's signature "R Coenen" (Rene Coenen 1948-1980) is on both sides at bottom of each scene. Short tang square knob buttstock made of attractive flame figured American walnut measures 14-3/8" over brown Browning open sided white line pad. Point pattern checkering with swept borders wraps over top of grip and gold oval on toeline is engraved "DCP". Captive flared target forend matches well. MEASUREMENTS: STOCK: DAH: 1-7/8". DAC: 1-1/2". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-3/8". WEIGHT: 6 lb. 10 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in its original tan Hartmann case lined in faux fur which has space for one barrel set and contains instruction booklet in black envelop, guarantee and key. Also included is a 3x5 card with information that gun was sent to Art's Gun Shop to check for salt wood (we did not test) and Art said "why replace forearm and stock if it stayed in this condition for 50 years". However Art's Gun Shop did apply a sealer to all wood areas that make contact with metal gun parts for extra protection. Also included is a cleaning instruction guide. CONDITION: exceptionally fine; very close to "as new" with only a very few handling and assembly marks. Case is also very fine with some slight soiling on interior from contact with barrels and action. (26-1430/MGM). CURIO. $7,000-10,000.
