TRIGGER REVOLVER. Cal. 22 RF. S#. 26121. The American Standard Tool Co. was the successor of Manhattan Arms. They conducted business making firearms and tools from 1868-73. There were approx 40,000 of these spur trigger revolvers mfg by the firm. Standard Tool Co examples were identical to the Manhattan 22 Caliber pocket revolvers of the 2 model variation with the exception of the bbl markings that were changed when the company took over production from Manhattan. The 3" bbl is marked "AMERICAN STANDARD TOOL CO. NEWARK N.J." on the rib. The flat is decorated with a foliate style scroll and the muzzle has intertwined accent bands. The flat side square butt frame is engraved with a foliate scroll with punch dot background and wavy border trim. The 7-shot cylinder has traces of a foliate pattern band with floral accents behind the cylinder indexes. Nickel finish. Smooth walnut grips. CONDITION: overall fair-good. Bbl has 70% of the original nickel with flaking and wear at the breech flats and muzzle with the balance having a brown patina. The brass frame has 80% of the original nickel with edge wear and some flaking. There are some dings to the recoil shield. The cylinder has 10% remaining nickel, matching numbers, and a brown patina in the finish voids. The grips are sound with some minor handling marks. Good bore with nice rifling and some spots of pitting. (0-28990/ZAL). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
