RICHARDSON .410 GA HANDY GUN. Cal. 410 GA. S# 183. Bbl. 12 1/4". Handy Gun mfg. by Harrington & Richardson between 1921-1934 as a derivative of the Model 1915 single shot break action shotgun. This example, mfg. likely during the first or second year of production is marked "410-12m/m" on the top of the bbl. towards the breech. Left side of the receiver is marked with H&R's 2-line address. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with the trigger and the hammer exhibiting a case colored finish. Checkered wood pistol grip with "spur" and plain wood forearm. Brass bead front sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame (on top of tang and left side beneath grip), bbl., as well as the forearm. NFA registry lists "HANDI GUN" in the model block. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some patches and areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray patina, as well as scattered spots and patches of light surface oxidation and light to mild pitting overall. Trigger and hammer have largely faded to a gray patina. Very bright bore, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of light to mild pitting, with patches of mild pitting present towards the breech. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound and presents nicely. A nice example of an H&R Handy Gun, that is undoubtedly the earliest example this catalog has seen. PROVENANCE: Military Museum Collection of Shooters Outpost, Hooksett NH. NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ANY OTHER WEAPON REQUIRING BATF TRANSFER BEFORE TAKING POSSESSION. FULLY TRANSFERABLE. (03-2368/MLW). CURIO. CLASS III. $1,200-1,800.
