SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 195959K. Bbl. 3 1/4". Model PPK semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Walther in 1939. The left side of the slide is marked with the Walther banner logo, followed by Walther's mfg. and patent information, as well as by the cal. and model designations. Frame is stamped "45" on the left side beneath the grip. Right side of the frame (breech), slide, and bbl. exhibit a Crown/N commercial nitro proof. Metal components exhibit a high polish blue finish overall, save for on the chamber area of the frame, which is polished in-the-white, as well as the safety / decocking lever, which exhibits a nitre blue finish. Frame is mounted with a 1-piece Walther banner logo checkered mottled brown synthetic grip. Slide features a solid matte rib, with an integral blade front sight and U-notch rear sight. Slide matches the frame via "959", which is properly etched on the interior of the slide, parallel to the ejection port. x1 blued steel 7-rd. marked with the Walther banner logo on the left side of the body. CONDITION: fine, with metal components retaining nearly all of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting light edge wear on the forward edges of the slide, with a light drag line present on the trigger and on the slide at the safety lever from prior operation. Safety lever retains the majority of its nitre blue finish, showing light wear and thinning along the right edge. Brilliant mirror bore, exhibiting some small spots of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics, to include the safety / decocking lever. Grips are excellent, showing some light smoothing, as well as a few small and light superficial marks from handling and storage. Edges of mag. floorplate exhibit light to mild wear and thinning that has faded to gray patina. A notably fine condition example of a 1939 production Walther PPK that one would find difficult to upgrade from. (26-258/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
