Cal. 45. S# 15. Barrel is 7 1/2" with pinned blued serrated blade in stainless ramped base; frame mounted black alloy factory adjustable rear sight. Mfg. 1975 (1975-2008 for all stainless models) as KBP-7, plus some in 1976, without a 3 digit prefix that was initiated on the stainless models in latter part of 1976. Noted author and firearms expert, Elmer Keith, was a personal friend and advisor of Bill Ruger and he received every firearm serial numbered 15 from the factory as his subscription number; references indicate less than 300 subscription numbers were issued with the lower numbers being most significant. This Old Army was sold for the first time by the Keith family in 2015 at Poulins, and we are pleased to be able to offer it again along with its blued #15 (140-00015) counterpart; both were sold together originally as a set. Oiled walnut grips with silver eagle medallions. Has standard stainless hammer and wide serrated trigger of Super Blackhawk style; no "warning marks" on barrel (initiated 1978). UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: original matching numbered red and white 1 piece cardboard box with early L shaped nipple wrench plus plaque used when museum displayed until 2015. Original warranty card and 9-74 dated manual. Box is still very good with light damage on back edge caused by sights. Label states caliber as 44, yet all were 45 using .457" bullets. CONDITION: thinning finish on top of front sight blade, light rub mark just forward of left grip, light function wear on bullet seater plus barely visible cylinder turn line and similar extremely faint marks on lower right front of cylinder frame; all other aspects are near excellent including bore and grips. (01-29014/NW). ANTIQUE. $1,250-1,750.
