M1 CARBINE. Cal. 30 Carb. S# 536043. 18" bbl marked behind front sight "INLAND / MFG. DIV. / GENERAL MOTORS / 7-43". Flip up sight marked "S" on left side. Blade front sight with protective ears. Narrow bbl band with rectangular swivel. Band spring has been modified by filing to seat fully into place. Straight cut slide marked "PI". Flat "SG" bolt. Milled Inland trigger guard with notable plum hue. Push button safety. "HI" dog leg hammer. Walnut stock set. Oval cut low wood buttstock has only illegible marking in sling slot. Tiny white "46" rack number on left side and remains of white painted rack number at end of grip. 4 rivet "IO" handguard. MAGS: 1 15-rd GI with dust cover. CONDITION: stock set has the wear, staining, handling marks expected from long hard service. Metal retains 60% of its original parkerized finish. Very good shiny bore. (26-923/RW).
