DESIRABLE IDEAL GRIPS & STOCK. Cal. 30. S# 37032. Bbl. 4 11/16". Model 1906 American Eagle Luger semi-automatic pistol mfg. by DWM for commercial sales within the U.S. The bbl. extension is marked with the Great Seal of the United States over the top of the chamber, with Crown/B and Crown/U commercial proofs marked on the left (repeated on left side of forward toggle link). Toggle is marked with the intertwined DWM monogram logo. Underside of the bbl. is marked with Crown/B, Crown/U, and Crown/G commercial proofs. Front of frame is stamped "GERMANY" below the S#. Metal components exhibit a rust blue finish overall, with some small parts exhibiting a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Ideal plain wood grips. Grip screws are assorted replacements. Standard dovetailed blade front sight and fixed V-notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching in the "hidden" commercial fashion, and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, bbl., bbl. extension, as well as the toggles. Grip safety has possibly been renumbered at one time. MAGS: x1 plated 8-rd. with cracked and pin repaired wood plug. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: steel and brown leather Ideal stock / holster. CONDITION: metal components retain large amounts of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting areas of wear and thinning that are fading to gray and brown patinas, as well as scattered spots of light to mild pitting overall. Grip straps exhibit a dark gray/brown patina and consistent light pitting. Strawed parts have primarily worn to gray patina, exhibiting scattered spots of age related discoloration and pitting. Bore is relatively bright, exhibiting consistent light to mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some scattered marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. Steel frame on stock / holster has mostly faded to a gray patina, exhibiting scattered spots and patches of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting overall. Leather remains malleable, exhibiting scattered handling marks, as well as some spots of minor age related cracking and crazing. (26-2230/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
