GRENADE LAUNCHER WITH TRAINING PROJECTILE. While originally produced 65 years ago, the RPG has remained one of the most significant anti-tank launchers in the world, largely due to its simplistic design and ease of mfg. This example was mfg. at Friedrich Engels Machinery Works (later Arsenal AD) in 1966, and was later dewatted via the welding of a bar in the tube and a hole cut towards the rear of the tube on the right side. The left side of the trigger housing is marked with Cyrillic characters denoting "RPG-7B/ A)-661/ (ENCIRCLED 10 ARSENAL INSIGINIA)/ 1966r". The tube features a black enamel type finish, with the rear section covered by 2-panels of wood via 3 bands. Trigger housing is comprised of aluminum and is in-the-white. Grips are each comprised of 2-piece grooved wood panels. Flip-up post front sight and square notch rear sight. Optic rail is mounted with a Bulgarian PGO-7B optic. Launcher is accompanied by an unmarked blue rubber training projectile. CONDITION: tube is good, retaining the majority of its black enamel type finish, showing scattered superficial handling marks and spots of flaking overall. Rear tube flange shows a couple of minor dents along the rim. Wood tube panels and grip panels show scattered handling marks and flaking to their painted exterior, but otherwise remain sound. Scope retains a clear, albeit slightly hazy optic. Optic lens cap is absent, with the rubber eyecup remaining malleable. Training projectile shows fading and age related cracking, with some minor chipping present towards the tip. PROVENANCE: Military Museum Collection of Shooters Outpost, Hooksett NH. (02-26752/MLW). NON-GUN. $3,000-5,000.
