MATCH M1 GARAND SEMI-AUTO MILITARY RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 4226362. Serial number is preceded by faint electro-pencil "AF" and succeeded by similar "NM". 24" bbl. Bbl. is polished on the rear section. Markings include "SA7791035 4 63". Bbl is additionally marked on the left behind front sight "NM AFPG" signifying the rifle as an Air Force Premium Grade as assembled and reworked by air force armorers. Throat gauges 6.5, muzzle gauges 2.0. T105E1 rear sight with "NM" marked adjustable aperture. Front sight marked "NM 062". Operating rod marked "NM" and "RA". Single slot gas cylinder lock screw. Bolt, trigger housing, hammer and safety marked "SA". Milled trigger guard. Walnut stock set. Buttstock is marked with faint trace of Defense Acceptance eagle and encircled "P" proof under grip. Stock shows no evidence of bedding adjustment. Front handguard has been unitized to bbl band. CONDITION: stock set has moderate wear and numerous handling marks. Approx. 2" crack in left side of buttstock in action area. Metal shows 70% of its original, moderately worn parkerized finish. Good shiny bore with lightly worn lands.
