HARDENED DELUXE LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 45-60. S# 33731. Bbl. 28" octagon. Ivory bead semi-circular front sight, graduated leaf rear sight with mid-range Vernier tang sight. Full length mag. Blued bbl. and mag. tube, with case colored action and nickel finished forearm cap. Single set trigger. Walnut forearm and pistol grip stock of XX fancy walnut with style H factory checkering, steel shotgun buttplate having ebony insert on underside of pistol grip. Inside of lower tang is marked with wood grade marking "XX", followed by assembly # "433", and "S". Top tang channel of stock is marked with matching assembly # "S 433". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Cody Firearms record stating "Type: Rifle/ Caliber 45/60/ Barrel Type: Octagon/ Trigger: Set/ Checkered stock, Pistol Grip/ Casehardened/ Receiver in warehouse on May 10, 1883/ Shipped from warehouse on May 11, 1883, Order number 4151". CONDITION: bbl. and mag. tube blue has largely faded to brown/gray, showing spotted surface oxidation and light pitting. Casehardened receiver has faded to silver gray, showing spots of surface freckling. Original wood shows added finish over scattered light scratches and marks with worn checkering. Mechanically fine action and set trigger. Good bore shows scattered spots of light pitting with strong rifling. (01-27055/DS). ANTIQUE. $6,000-9,000.
