Colt Model 1911 U.S. Army Semi-Automatic Pistol, #225039, .45 ACP cal., 5" barrel, blued finish, checkered double diamond wood grips, with standard blade front sight and "U"-notched rear sight. Includes one circa-1970s magazine. Mfg'd 1918. Frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" with "GHS" (Maj. Gilbert H. Stewart) inspection mark on the left side. Slide is marked with patent dates to Aug. 19, 1913, and Colt company markings on the left side. "(Rampant Colt)" logo at the rear is not circled. Right side of the slide is marked "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY". Barrel is marked "COLT.45 AUTO". Pistol is in very good overall condition, retaining approx. 75%-80% thinning and toning factory blue, with areas of mild frosting and freckling. Most of the wear is on the grip area and top of the slide. Grips are very good with a few light dents and handling marks. Action operates smoothly but the disconnector does not hold the hammer when slide is out of battery and the trigger is pulled. Bore is very good with sharp rifling. Est.: $2,000-$2,500. (C&R)
