Civil War Era Colt 1851 Navy Percussion Revolver, #134589, .36 cal., 7.5" octagon barrel, blue and color case hardened finish, smooth walnut one-piece grip, brass pin front sight, V-notch rear sight located on the hammer face, with brass straps and trigger guard. Cylinder with naval battle scene. All-matching visible serial numbers except for the wedge. Mfg'd 1863. Revolver is in good condition, having gone to an even gray patina with scattered mild pin prick erosion, and traces of original finish under the lever and in the protected areas. Cylinder shows approx. 20%-30% cylinder scene, with partially legible engagement date, and cap groove on the right side; nipples are intact with the safety tabs hammered flat. Frame, lever and hammer display silvered color case hardened finish. Brass straps and trigger guard are a pleasant taffy colored patina, with traces of original silver plate around the trigger guard. The screw heads are very good. Grips with moderate wear and indentations, with three notches in the bottom of the right panel; marked with the matching serial number in blue ink in the channel. Action functions well, holding at full and half-cock. Bore is fair, with moderate erosion and visible rifling. Est.: $1,000-$1,500. (Antique)
