Chinese SKS Semi-Automatic Carbine with Folding Bayonet and Capture Papers, #10101903, 7.62x39mm cal., 20.5" barrel, gloss black refinish, wood stock and handguard, hooded post front sight, and adjustable tangent rear sight. Left side of the receiver is marked with a "Triangle 26" arsenal stamp and Chinese characters. Features an original fixed 10-round magazine, folding spike bayonet, green cloth sling, and buttstock cleaning kit. Cleaning rod is absent. Receiver, trigger guard, magazine, and bolt carrier have matching numbers. The receiver cover does not match; stock is unnumbered. Includes DD Form 603-1-R capture paperwork bearing the rifle's serial number. The form's date field reads "101345H MAR 72"; its Theater and inclusive period of service in oversea command field reads "USARPAC 27 JUL 71 - 26 JUL 72". No visible import marks. Condition overall is good. Metal surfaces show scattered pitting beneath the refinish, primarily along the stock line. The nonmatching receiver cover has a similar finish color but no visible pitting; the bayonet's finish and condition appear consistent with the other rifles parts. Stock and handguard have been sanded, leaving the stock undersized relative to the buttplate. A piece at the toe of the buttstock is broken but is present. The piston extension return spring is missing. Bolt operates smoothly. Bayonet operates smoothly. Bore rates good overall, showing a ring of rust approx. 1" from the muzzle, with rust and scattered pitting along the edges of the rifling. Est.: $1,500-$2,000. (C&R)
