ACTION SNIPER RIFLE. Cal. 30-06. S# 3424080. 24" bbl. Bbl marked behind the front sight area "RA / flaming bomb / 8-43". No indication of front sight installation. Rifle is correct WWII sniper. Receiver features the offset markings. The marking reading "Model 03-A3" has the "3" partially obliterated and a "4" added. Bolt has the correct swept handle for bolt clearance. Receiver has been beveled to accept the lower bolt handle. The stock bolt handle cut is correctly done. Rifle has the Redfield Jr. mount with the bevel at the rear and is equipped with a telescopic sight marked "TELESCOPE M73B1 / PATD. - PATS. PEND. / W.R. WEAVER CO. / EL PASO, TEX. USA.". The scope is equipped with a fine crosshair reticle and has the early flat top adjusting knobs. Bolt assembly and cutoff are marked "R". All stamped furniture including large bow trigger guard and fine checkered trap buttplate. Walnut stock set. The pistol grip stock with its two recoil bolts is marked on the left side with faint crossed cannons, boxed "?P" arsenal mark and "FJA" and "AA "; Augusta Arsenal mark. Green web sling. CONDITION: scope retains 80% of its arsenal rework blue finish with light wear and tiny handling marks. S# has been rendered obscure. Optics appear slightly cloudy and the lens has a darkened appearance around the edges, but scope could be considered serviceable. Stock has a good appearance with its arsenal rework finish and little loss of wood. There are two notable filled dents on both sides of the grip. Metal retains 90% of its arsenal rework parkerized finish with light high point wear. 2 groove bore has a lightly worn, slightly frosted appearance.
