SELMA ALABAMA. Cal. 36. S# 509. This is the only complete Spiller & Burr frame I am aware that doesn't have a gun built around it. This gun is in a serial range made in Atlanta in 1863 where most guns failed and did not make it into service. This gun did pass factory and government inspection as noted by Spiller inspector "E" and government inspection "C.S." on left side of frame. Spillers were notorious for failing in the field, and 1863 produced survivors are rare. CONDITION: frame is complete; "C.S." & "E" inspection are both very good. Frame is cracked on top strap at recoil shield; threaded barrel section has cut through it on right side. Portions of hammer screw & trigger screw are still present, both heavily rusted. (01-29486/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
