CUSTOM BOLT ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 270 WCF. NSN. Bbl. 24-1/2" medium weight without sights. Top of bbl. is marked "CUSTOM BUILT – COLUMBIA RIFLE CO. – SPOKANE WASH." Left side of customized military action is marked "Mod. 98". Custom bolt handle has 2 panel checkering. Low-swing safety. Timney single stage trigger. Weaver Marksman 3-9x32 gloss finished scope with standard crosshairs. Leupold 1 piece scope base & rings. Classic style straight comb stock with shadow line cheekpiece of fancy Claro walnut. Point pattern 18 LPI hand checkering. The wrap-around forearm checkering has a segmented center diamond. Stock features include an ebony forearm tip, black grip cap and swivel bases. LOP 13-5/8" over a solid black Decelerator pad. Weight with scope is 8.4 lbs. Columbia Rifle Works went out of business in the 1950s. Consignor information relates that the stock is by Earl Milliron and the custom metal work is by Tom Burgess. Both Milliron & Burgess were from Spokane and worked extensively with Columbia. CONDITION: near excellent retaining over 98% custom blue. Bolt body shows some damascened finish. Original stock finish shows a few small scratches. Bright near excellent bore.
