ACTION REVOLVER WITH ROPER GRIPS. Cal. 38 Spl. S# 499800. Bbl. 6". Officers Model Target double action revolver mfg. by Colt in 1950. Left side of the bbl. is marked "OFFICERS MODEL TARGET/ .38 SPECIAL CTG.", with Colt's single line address marked on the right. Left side of the frame is marked with the Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the sides of the hammer, which are polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood Roper grips, with the left panel featuring a thumbrest. Patridge blade front sight with adj. U-notch rear sight. Checkered trigger and backstrap. Matching numbers are present on the frame and cyl. crane. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some light edge wear, scattered superficial handling marks, as well as some scattered spots of light surface oxidation overall. Front of frame exhibits a small, but notable ding next to the cyl. crane., with a lighter ding present on the checkered panel on the backstrap. Cyl. exhibits spots/patches of mild wear fading to gray patina. Sides of hammer show some light pitting and surface oxidation. Mirror bore, exhibiting a few spots of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips show some superficial marks and small minor impressions, with the right panel exhibiting a small chip at the base of the frame's butt. (25-5117/MLW). CURIO. $1,000-1,500.
