PISTOL. Cal. 45 ACP. S# 29992-LW. Bbl. 4 1/4" blued (in the white at port). Mfg. 1952 (1949-1970) as Commander (Lightweight) Model made with Coltalloy high tensile aluminum alloy frame by Alcoa. Very much like Government models but lightweight with shorter barrel and Mauser influenced serrated round ring hammer (sides are in the white). Standard Government grip profile with chocolate brown checkered Coltwood grips and Coltalloy grooved arched mainspring housing. Grooved safety tab and slide lock. Short grooved steel trigger. Trigger guard has "VP" proof and "G" on left side plus "95" on right. Standard Government style sights of serrated ramped blade at front and drift adjustable notch at rear. Highly desirable model with 'radar' serial number. MAGS: 2 military WW-II 7 rd.; very good to excellent blued Scovill and very good parkerized Ridson. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: good to very good matching numbered box with hinged cover having broken left corners on top. Some general light scuffs that are mostly on the top. Blued Colt key chain screwdriver with 3 blades. Near excellent manual and unused 3 part warranty / NRA membership card. String attached price tag from "The Bullet Hole" listing price of "$259.50"; never reached this retail and was $65 in 1952. Although many businesses have used this name, the one in Sarasota, FL has been in continual operation since 1947 by one family. Also has bottle style bore brush and tan wrapping paper; the complete package. CONDITION: very good overall with occasional faint marks, light function wear and thinning at some high points plus in grip area. Common, light frame scratch from improper slide lock installation.
