PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 36. S# 170959. Mfg. 1863. These guns were mfg from 1850-73 with 4th models falling within the 85000-215000 range. It is fitted with a 7.5" bbl with a 1-line address reading "-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA-". The cylinder is 6-shot with the naval scene roll stamp and "COLTS PATENT" marking. The cylinder pins have completely worn. The frame has the standard "COLTS/PATENT" stamp. The brass trigger guard strap has "36 CAL" stamped on the left should and "3" on the trigger guard web. The backstrap is brass. It has original Colt 1-piece grips with a partially visible serial number that appears to match in the back strap channel, however it is not completely discernible. The SN match on the frame, straps, bbl, wedge, arbor, and cylinder. The loading lever is unnumbered. CONDITION: Overall good. The iron is void of finish with an even dark brown patina and solid crisp markings. Straps are also void of finish and have numerous small dings mostly in the butt area. The grips are hand worn with some gouges in both the butt and sides. There is also a large chip on the left and some smaller loss in the corners. Bore is dark with wear to the gain twist rifling and pitting. (01-29528/ZAL) ANTIQUE $800-1200
