British No.4 Mk 1 Lee Enfield Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet, #Q34959, .303 British cal., 25.2" barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock set with handguard, blade front sight with protectors, and two-position flip rear sight adjustable to 300 and 600 yards. Includes an original bayonet, made by the Singer Co., stamped "No 4 MK II/N67" on left side of the socket. Bayonet is in fine condition, showing sharpening to the point. Steel scabbard is stamped "1944" and is in good condition, with a small dent to the body. The khaki colored Canadian belt frog is stamped "GEW 1943", with a Canadian property stamp on the rear, in very good overall condition. Rifle is marked "No.4 MK.1/Q34959" on left side of the receiver and "M/47C/1944/Q34959" on left side of the action body. There is a "W" inside a five-pointed star stamped on top of the receiver ring, a transverse reinforcing bolt through the forend, and horizontal cuts to the forend at the rear barrel band. Matching numbers on the bolt handle and forend. Magazine does not match. No visible import marks. Condition overall is very good+, retaining approx. 80% thinning and toning blue, showing edgewear. There are spliced repairs to the comb and toe of the buttstock. Wood is otherwise very good, with scattered moderate dents and scratches. Action operates smoothly. Bore is bright with very good, clearly defined rifling. Est.: $400-$600. (C&R)
