British .22 Pattern 1914 No.2 Short Lee Enfield Bolt Action Training Rifle, #S9810, .22 rimfire cal., 25.2" barrel, blued finish, hardwood stock set with handguard, blade front sight with protectors, and adjustable rear sight with "U"-notched groove, graduated to 2000 yards. Rifle was converted into a Trainer by soldering a .22 cal. liner into the barrel, marked "PARKER RIFLED A.G.P." at the muzzle, and fitting a converted bolt head with offset firing pin (marked 22 No2) to the bolt body, and removing the magazine cutoff and magazine follower. Right side of the action body is marked with the original "(Crown)/G.R/ENFIELD/1911/SHTL.E/III" over the later conversion markings "A.G.PARKER/BIRMINGHAM/22 PATT14/No2". There is a "DP" stamp on the barrel knox form. "C9" has been stamped into right side of the buttstock and into the buttstock marking disc. There is a painted #9 on left side of the buttstock. Matching numbers on the forend and nose cap. Bolt does not match. No visible import marks. Condition overall is very good, retaining approx. 70%-75% blue; showing wear, brown toning, and with patina to the nose cap. Wood is good with general handling marks and impressions to the darkened finish. Action operates smoothly. Bore is bright with very good rifling. Est.: $700-$900. (C&R)
