British 1839 Pattern Coast Guard Percussion Pistol, #NVSN, .67 cal. smoothbore, bright finish. Hardwood stock with brass trigger guard, buttcap, and rammer pipe. No sights. A captive swiveling iron rammer is mounted under the pinned barrel and a replacement lanyard loop is attached to the butt. Spring steel belt clip is attached to the left side. Lock plate is marked "(crown)/TOWER/(Unreadable date)/(Lock Viewers mark)". There are proof and inspection stamps on left side of the barrel. Condition overall is fair. Metal shows heavy use, wear, and patina. Wood with general bruises, handling marks, and areas of thinning to the finish. There is a 1.5" crack to left side of the forend. Action operates smoothly; hammer holds on half and full cock. Bore rates fair with visible fine rust that may clean better. Est.: $400-$700. (Antique)
